“We had our anniversary party at Wild Blue Waters and we could not have imagined a better venue to have our party at! Shawn and Blaze are just the kindest people and they are so accommodating and understanding. We had the best experience working with them and will continue to book their venue for our party every year! Shawn went above and beyond to be available to us the whole entire weekend to help us with various things and he was a total lifesaver quite a few times! The venue itself is a true gem not often found on Hawai'i Island. There was room for a huge tent and dance floor, along with several other smaller tents. We had about 250 people at our party and there was room for everyone to camp who wanted to, with plenty of room left over. We also rented out the house which was a perfect landing spot for us during all the festivities. The ocean view is spectacular and can't be beat! The hot tub and pool really took our event to the next level! It was SO nice to have two showers and a flushing toilet as well. We seriously do not have any complaints about Wild Blue Waters, we will recommend them to everyone over and over again!”

“Our wedding at Loulu Palm was an absolute dream come true. The venue is breathtaking — intimate, peaceful, and perfectly set right by the beach. It gave us the magical, tropical atmosphere we always wanted. Nickie was a joy to work with. She was super helpful throughout the planning process, especially when it came to coordinating all of our rentals and paperwork. Her attention to detail and responsiveness made a huge difference, and we always felt supported. Ashley, our full wedding planner, was a total lifesaver. As very Type B people who hate planning, we were dreading the process — but Ashley made it easy, organized, and even fun. She kept us on track with monthly and weekly check-ins and handled every detail with care. She created a detailed timeline and made sure everything was lined up perfectly — and we never once felt overwhelmed. She went above and beyond to make sure we had our vision come to life. The day of the wedding was seamless — everything ran smoothly, and we were able to fully enjoy every moment without stress. Ashley took care of everything behind the scenes, and it showed. Hire her! We’re beyond grateful for Ashley, Nickie, and the entire team at Loulu Palm. Thank you for giving us the perfect wedding!”

It was truly a life-changing experience, not only for my husband and me, but for all of our guests. We traveled all the way from Wisconsin for our destination wedding and hosted 53 guests. Every single person was amazed by the venue's beauty, the exceptional service from the staff, and the overall grace of the entire event. I cannot thank Alia enough for her coordination and for ensuring our day ran perfectly. As a bride, her calm and positive demeanor was a true breath of fresh air. She paid incredible attention to detail and made sure our day ran smoothly and flawlessly. She is amazing to work with!! Our officiant, Rev. Why you'll love this venue

  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Space for a large guest list

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • On-site parking not available
“We had our wedding in August 2025 at the Fairmont Orchid with 130 guests, and it truly exceeded our expectations. We got married in the Coconut Grove, which was absolutely stunning, and hosted our welcome party in the courtyard. Both spaces created such a fun and seamless experience for our entire wedding weekend. We chose the Okika Wedding Package, which included many core elements for the ceremony and reception. Since we were also bringing in custom elements and outside vendors, it did make things a bit more complex, and in hindsight we may not have needed the highest-tier package. That said, it still provided a strong foundation for the overall wedding. Our Fairmont planner did change a few months before the wedding, but it ended up working out well. Aria was with us on our wedding day and was calm, helpful, and kept everything running smoothly. As a Bay Area couple, we did notice a bit of “Hawaii time” with communication early on, but we were told to expect that and responses became much quicker as the wedding approached. The food really stood out. During our tasting, we were surprised by both the presentation and taste. It felt elevated and not like typical wedding food. We chose plated meals, which were actually a little more affordable than a buffet. The Fairmont was also flexible and allowed us to make changes. We opted out of a plated dessert since we already had a three-tier cake, and instead added a Hawaiian ice bar for a small upcharge, which guests loved. We also did the prepaid bar package, which was 100% worth it. It made the night feel stress-free since we weren’t worried about a running tab and guests could fully enjoy themselves. Shipping items ahead was another huge plus. We sent personalized napkins, menus, and light-up leis to the hotel the month before, and they stored everything and delivered it to our room when we arrived. This made things so much easier since we were flying in. We brought in some outside vendors for personalization, including rentals, a day-of planner (Dayna at Naupaka Events, highly recommend), DJ Tiger and his wife who made the party so fun, Flower Me Pretty for gorgeous florals, BTS Dalhan for content creation, and Hawaii Sound and Vision who handled lighting, coordinated a fire dancing show, and arranged a live guitarist, Vaughn Valentino, for our ceremony. Our officiant, Kuha Tom, made the ceremony feel truly Hawaiian and magical. Photos by Apricity Wedding Photography. Multiple guests have told us it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to. Dancing under the palm trees by the water was unreal. It was warm since it was summer time, but by the end of the night many of us jumped into the ocean fully dressed, which was a highlight. One of the best parts is that we can go back and visit anytime, which makes it even more special to us!”

“The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort was a wonderful choice for our wedding venue. It was vibrant and a romantic place to have a wedding especially on a Friday night where they have a firework show. Alma Hamamoto was my husband’s and I catering/service manager. Her communication throughout the planning process was always positive, punctual, and informative. The HHV staff was incredibly kind and hospitable, ensuring our special day was special. The high-quality food and attentive service were standouts, and they even made sure my husband and I were able to enjoy a meal together amidst the excitement. Having the wedding and reception all in one beautiful, sprawling resort was so convenient - we loved being able to take photos in the different scenic areas around the property, and our bridal party had a blast exploring the spa, beach, pools, and restaurants on site. “We had our wedding for 50 guests at the Hawaii Polo Club and had the most amazing time. It was just what we wanted - a more low key, casual wedding with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, on our wedding day it rained a lot so we weren't able to see the mountains in the background and the beach was quite gloomy but it was still a great time. We were told the rainy season would be over but it was unusual for May Sugako was very responsive and easy to work with. “This location is incredible if you want a ceremony, reception, & hotel all in one! I was able to rent the on-site villa for 4 days & we hosted a wedding there for about 125 people. The owner, Pitambar, was responsive & flexible. I let his team recommend all of the vendors because we live stateside. The vendors & wedding planner were incredible! Emily, the wedding planner, went above & beyond to answer all my questions & make sure our day was perfect.  The only suggestions I have is renovations on the property. Some of the lights & doors need fixed & it’s open to air in the living room so you will see bugs & reptiles. I still enjoyed it because we had 40 of our closest friends & family staying there! The pool & hot tub are wonderful & the property is very spacious.  Everyone was very good about communicating & my wedding was amazing. I would highly recommend this team & this property! It was a little island hideaway for a couple of days. Thank you for everything!”

“We had the most beautiful wedding at Merriman’s. The venue itself is stunning, but what truly made the day unforgettable was our coordinator, Debbie — she was absolutely amazing and handled every detail flawlessly. The food was delicious, and the entire experience felt effortless and perfect from start to finish. We honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. Highly recommend the lunchtime buyout — it was incredible!”

“We recently hosted our wedding at the Ritz and we had the best experience. It was beyond anything we could have imagined and that is due to the people that work there. From the very beginning working with Akiko on our contract through check-out with Zella at Guest Relations and Margie at reception. The property is absolutely beautiful and speaks for itself, but it is because of the people that we plan to return for future vacations and anniversaries for years to come. The true ALL STARS of our experience were Marisa, our wedding coordinator, and Michelle, the manager at the Banyan Tree where we hosted our reception. You could not ask for a better wedding coordinator than Marisa. She was always organized and on top of every detail, answered questions via email/phone/video chat right away, dealt amazingly well with all the wedding stress and last-minute details, and made you feel like you were the only person she was there to take care of. When I say she went above and beyond at her job, that is an understatement. She always had the right answer in any situation. She helped us coordinate events before and after our wedding, which she didn't have to do, and put extra special touches on each of them. She made everything special, memorable, and go off without a hitch. This is the place to get married if you want to have the experience of a lifetime. Make sure you ask for Marisa to be your coordinator. Planning your wedding is such an intimate experience that you really bond with people you work with. My husband and I definitely bonded with Marisa and are so appreciative of her that we already miss talking with her all the time. Michelle, who handled the dinner portion of our wedding at the Banyan Tree (the restaurant on property) was also wonderful and did an amazing job making our dinner beautiful, special, unique, and magical. She handled all our special requests from diet, decor, music, and more with grace and expertise. We had 52 people, so it wasn't a small wedding dinner. She executed every detail we asked of her in a fashion that was better than we could have imagined. She always guided us in the right direction when we had difficulties making decisions on food, drinks, seating arrangements, etc. Michelle clearly has impeccable taste and is a true professional in her industry. I greatly appreciate her thoughtfulness, generosity, and gracious personality that is exhibited in everything she does. Her staff is reflective of her... attentive, caring, and professional. Lana in particular took great care of us. She was helping us out on our wedding day, making sure everything at the dinner stayed on schedule and that all our needs were taken care of. When my husband and I went back six days later for Valentine's Day before we left the Ritz we got to sit in Lana's section and spend more time with her. She was such a joy it elevated our dinner experience all the more. I have so many stories about how the people at Ritz made our experience a once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience (and vacation) there just isn't enough room to write it in this review. Overall, we spent about a week at the Ritz and every person we interacted with operated with the same high level of care, customer service, and a true spirit of graciousness. Needless to say, we plan to return to the Ritz in Kapalua as soon as we can! I don’t think we’ll find a comparable experience anywhere else in the world. Lastly, the cost was a good value, you won't regret it!”

About wedding venues in Hawaii

Why Is Hawaii the Perfect Place for Your Wedding?

Hawaii offers wedding venues that seamlessly blend dramatic landscapes with authentic Hawaiian traditions. You'll find oceanfront ceremony spots with breathtaking sunset backdrops that create unforgettable photo opportunities. The islands feature lush garden settings nestled against mountain views and historic venues rich with cultural significance. Whether you're planning an intimate elopement or gathering everyone you know, Hawaii's diverse venues can accommodate celebrations of any size.

What Makes Each Hawaiian Island Unique for Weddings?

How Does Oahu Balance Accessibility and Beauty?

Oahu combines easy accessibility with spectacular natural beauty, making it perfect for guests traveling from afar. Venues like Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku give you stunning beachfront settings with a deeply romantic atmosphere your guests will talk about for years. The Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki offers accessible venues including the Ocean Lawn and Coconut Grove. This flexibility helps you design exactly the wedding you're envisioning without logistical headaches.

Which Hawaiian Island Offers the Most Scenic Backdrop?

Kauai gives you near-private beach ceremonies with intimate settings along its secluded shorelines. Perfect for couples seeking privacy. Maui features The Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua with exceptional culinary experiences and comprehensive wedding coordination that takes stress off your shoulders. The island's upcountry settings provide cooler temperatures and sweeping vistas that create dramatic backdrops for your special day.

How Much Does a Wedding in Hawaii Cost?

A Hawaii wedding venue costs about $10,665, fitting right within the national average range of $6,500-$12,000. You'll typically spend between $9,600-$11,700 on your venue, which represents about 19% of your total wedding budget. Your overall costs will scale with guest count: 50 guests runs around $24,065 while 300 guests approaches $96,881. Most couples secure their Hawaii venue about 14 months before the big day. June sees the highest number of venue inquiries, so plan accordingly if you're considering a summer wedding.

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in Hawaii?

The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa offers fully accessible venues with ramps, elevators and carefully designed pathways throughout the property. Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa provides highly accessible spaces with beautiful beachfront options that don't compromise on the Hawaiian experience. The Royal Hawaiian features accessible accommodations with well-integrated ramps and elevators throughout the property, ensuring all your guests can fully participate in your celebration.

Which Hawaii Venues Offer Outstanding Culinary Experiences?

Halekulani Hotel on Oahu has earned its reputation for fine dining and exceptional service. Their wedding menus consistently receive glowing reviews from guests who appreciate the perfect balance of sophistication and island flavors.

How Can Remote Guests Participate in Your Hawaii Wedding?

Kualoa Ranch's breathtaking scenery makes streamed events feel special even for those watching from thousands of miles away. The Hyatt Regency Waikiki offers advanced technological solutions including virtual greeting systems that create meaningful connections. Consider innovative approaches like providing VR headsets to remote guests or assigning a dedicated host to engage with virtual attendees through live chat. These touches help everyone feel included in your celebration regardless of distance.

What's Your Next Step in Planning Your Hawaii Wedding?

With venues typically booked 14 months ahead, you should start scheduling venue tours during Hawaii's shoulder seasons. April-May or September-October give you the advantage of wedding professionals having more availability to answer your questions. Working with a more modest budget? Consider restaurant private rooms like Cafe Julia in Honolulu which includes furniture, basic decor and staff in their package price. This approach gives you the Hawaiian experience while keeping costs manageable.
