I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. From Min and Morten, to all the advisors that helped us, to all the staff who worked the venue for set up, the cooks, the servers, the bartenders, and not to mention how insanely good the food was - every single aspect of this place and the people there were truly magnificent. I was excited to marry the love of my life, sure, but after 16 years together I really viewed this as just a big party to celebrate with all the people in our lives. I expected and welcomed that view. To say it exceeded expectations is overwhelmingly unfair - it completely blew my mind how amazing the whole day was, honestly the whole weekend since there was also the rehearsal and breakfast the morning after, and I cannot express how grateful I am for how the whole experience turned out. I know I had loved the venue itself when we first visited, and that I thought the food was absolutely amazing during the food tasting, but it ended up being even more gorgeous on the day and the food for 150 people was still all so delicious that not one guest didn't mention at least one of the apps/ entree throughout the night and following day. One of my brides people who is quite the foodie snob keeps mentioning how juicy the chicken was. Seriously though, the food was just phenomenal. I never like cakes at weddings (they're always beautiful but don't taste good) and had planned on getting cake pops for my wedding, but at the food tasting I was just shocked at how amazing it was that I had to have that cake for the day. I would recommend this venue, and this staff, so whole heartedly. If any of the staff read this review, thank you all for making our special day one that will forever be a heartwarming memory.

My team and I have had the great pleasure of working at Full Moon Resort since 2011! This resort is such an outstanding venue for weddings and events! As a wedding professional myself, I have always had such a sense of ease working here. Their staff has always been helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable, and they continue to offer this consistency year after year. I am never left worrying about who may or may not be working at each event that we are a part of. So many venues have a constant revolving door of employees, it can be very stressful not only for couples getting married when that happens, but also for the vendors. There is never any of that stress at this venue. In addition to the highly experienced staff who work here, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, climate-controlled, with clean and spacious restrooms, and kept immaculately clean, which is impressive when many area venues are more rustic. I also always appreciate that there is a solid ceremony plan in place, no matter what the weather decides to do. As a florist, I really like the fact that this venue is a total "blank slate," so when it comes to wedding decor, couples are never limited with their design selections. This venue also has stunning grounds for some of the prettiest wedding photos! Seriously, even off-peak times of the year such as March and April are still stunning here, with their beautiful birch trees, and moss and lichen-covered rocks. If you are a couple looking for an ideal wedding venue, look no further than Full Moon Resort! P.S. Photo Courtesy of https://perennialimage.com/

Kismet House was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we booked the space, the owners were incredibly helpful and efficient in their communication, answering all of our questions promptly. Their suggestions for the setup and use of the space were amazing and really helped make our day less stressful. The quality of their work and the overall value was worth every cent - the barn, pond, and every corner of the property provided a dreamlike backdrop that all of our guests raved about. From the ceremony to the sunset and evening by the fireplace, it was magical. I cannot recommend Kismet House enough to any couple looking for a perfect wedding venue.

We recently had our wedding at ElmRock Inn bnb and we feel very lucky to have made lasting memories there. Rain or shine the grounds were absolutely stunning and the décor tied the ambiance together to create a warm and rustic look to our wedding that we always envisioned. We were blessed with a rainy morning which did not stop us from having a beautiful ceremony. The staff was extremely helpful as we transitioned with the weather. Jen and the other wait staff was very attentive in ensuring that everyone with food restrictions were taken care of. The food was beyond expectations, we had so many guests that came up to us to send compliments to the chef. The reception went off without a hitch! We were even lucky enough to get a visit from the friendly deer that like to roam the property which created the most spectacular and unique photos. There are only a few suggestions that we had about our experience. Those of our guests staying in the Carriage house hit a few snags during their visit. There are a few lifted nails in the floor boards that our guests hit as they walked barefoot upstairs. There was also some difficulty finding hooks to hand towels that were being used or to hang a suit. We stayed in the Iris room which was a beautiful space, however, we were woken up each morning quite early to staff having some loud conversations in the kitchen below us. The only trouble we had during the reception was during our cake cutting. We noticed the cake was not taken out with enough time to thaw after being in the fridge because it was difficult to cut. Regardless of these small challenges, we still had such an amazing time and could not be more happy with this unforgettable day. Thank you ElmRock Inn!

Why Choose New Paltz for Your Wedding Celebration?

New Paltz weddings give you access to the dramatic cliff faces and panoramic vistas of the Shawangunk Ridge as your ceremony backdrop. You'll find a range of distinctive venues here, from historic Dutch stone houses along Huguenot Street to modern spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame those mountain views. Located just 90 minutes from NYC yet surrounded by protected wilderness, New Paltz offers that perfect sweet spot of accessibility for your guests while still providing the natural seclusion you're looking for on your special day.

What Types of Wedding Venues Can You Find in New Paltz?

New Paltz offers a diverse venue landscape to match your vision. The historic Mohonk Mountain House stands as a Victorian castle perched dramatically on the Shawangunk Ridge, giving you Victorian elegance with multiple ceremony sites that feature those breathtaking cliff-edge views. If you're drawn to something more down-to-earth, rustic options like Phillies Bridge Farm provide authentic settings with natural charm that needs minimal decoration. For couples wanting simplicity in planning, all-inclusive venues like Novella's New Paltz include on-site culinary catering by Chef Michael Garnero, who brings over 25 years of Culinary Institute of America experience to your wedding day menu.

For larger gatherings, expect to budget around $99,596 for 200 guests or $139,254 if you're hosting 300 people. The average venue alone in New Paltz costs $17,544, which represents about 22% of your total wedding budget for a typical 150-guest celebration. This is notably higher than the national average of $6,500-$12,000 for venues, so you'll want to factor this premium into your planning early on.

When Should You Book Your New Paltz Wedding Venue?

New Paltz venues are typically booked about 12 months before the wedding date; 343 days on average to be exact. The Shawangunk Ridge puts on a spectacular autumn color display that creates magical wedding backdrops, so if you're dreaming of those rich red and gold mountain views, you'll want to secure your date well in advance of the typical booking window.
