“I very recently got married, and the planning leading up to the wedding went so smoothly and so quickly! Venue, florals, photography- things got checked off our list with relative ease. Then we got a bit stuck- we needed an officiant! It can seem like a simple pick, but if you don’t want to have a friend or family get ordained, and you’re not a member of a traditional religion, it can be a harder match to make. But then, we found Tara at Witchy Woman Weddings and reached out immediately. We’re so glad we did!! Inquiry was simple and responses were fast. We only spoke through email leading up to the day itself, but Tara does have the option to book meetings if you’d prefer some face-to-face contact in the lead up to your big day. She has such a peaceful and warm presence that, even if you’re meeting her for the first time at the altar for the ceremony as I did, you feel that calm and kind energy emanating towards you. The process for creating your ceremony script is both easy and personalized- Tara has an in-depth questionnaire to fill out that covers a wide range of topics so she can tailor the ceremony to your unique story and the vibe you’re aiming to create. It really covers all the bases but doesn’t feel daunting to complete. After that, she delivers a sample script and makes sure to note that edits can be made if there is anything you want changed- we didn’t make a single change to ours! We got emotional just reading through our draft and were amazed at how she captured us in the writing. To sum all this up, I am beyond grateful to have found Tara. She was the perfect person to join us together, mixing elements of both the traditional and the not-so-traditional on our Friday the 13th wedding. “Rabbi Noyo is the best! Hire her now. More context: We hired Rabbi Noyo to officiate our interfaith wedding in September 2024. We wanted to add some jewish elements to our wedding but did not know what our options were beyond breaking the glass and the Chuppah. Rabbi Noyo was understanding and patient with us - she took the time to really get to know me and now husband, our history, what we love about one another, etc. She also encouraged us to have important, difficult conversations leading up to the wedding, which she cleverly coined as 'pillow talk'. This helped strengthen our bond and us feel completely secure and ready for our upcoming nuptials. In additional to these sessions, Rabbi Noyo also took the time to explain the various elements that could be incorporated leading up to and during the ceremony, the significance behind them, and even provided information on where to learn more/buy items. She never pressured us or made us feel badly for skipping ceremony components and even provided alternative language for blessings that felt more like us. She also provided input on our program, reviewed our vows, and even had printed copies ready for us during the ceremony. Rabbi Noyo made our wedding ceremony truly perfect. Her words during the ceremony were BEAUTIFUL, heartfelt, and funny. She knew the little things that mattered (including setting expectations ahead of the ceremony, moving to the side for the kiss, etc.) and helped everyone feel so comfortable. She gave clear instructions to the guests and helped make sure that the special moments worked seamlessly. She encouraged our love to shine through and facilitated an absolutely gorgeous ceremony. “I genuinely cannot imagine our wedding without Evelyn and the Love & Laughter Weddings team. We live out of state and got married at my family’s estate in Carmel by the Sea, so from the beginning I knew we needed a wedding planner. We worked with Evelyn for about a year and a half and somehow every detail turned out even better than my pinterest dreams. Evelyn is truly a rockstar!! She is organized, kind, patient, and has this incredibly calming presence that makes you feel like everything is going to be okay, even when your anxiety has you convinced it is not. She was there for every planning call, every random question, and every panic email I sent after having some ridiculous wedding related dream in the middle of the night. Nothing ever made her seem overwhelmed. She would just calmly talk me through it, come up with a solution, and suddenly whatever I was stressing about didn't feel like a big deal anymore. We also used their in house design services, officiant, and live music and I cannot recommend them enough! Having so much of the wedding managed under one roof made planning SO easy and everything was incredibly cohesive. At some point during planning Evelyn told me that the goal for wedding day was “no thoughts, just vibes” and that became our running joke, but she was completely serious lol. When the wedding weekend finally came, I genuinely turned my brain off. I wasn't checking the time or worrying about setup or wondering what was supposed to happen next. I take guest experience and your wishes very seriously. I have the ability to command a room, a writer's knack for shaping a story, an emcee's sense of timing, and experience at the most prestigious venues. My BFA in Acting (Boston University) and MFA in Creative Writing (NYU) serve me well.
