    Excellent food, perfectly timed

Park Avenue Style & Events catered our wedding at Weylin in August, 122 guests: six passed canapes, a plated dinner, a sweets table, the cake, and late-night food to one in the morning. The food was excellent. Of the canapés, the beggar's purse with wild mushrooms and manchego and the grilled flank steak with Thai chili were the two we heard most about, and all six were worth eating. The salad was lovely. Dinner was brisket, branzino, or a wild mushroom ravioli in truffle cream for the vegetarians among us, and all three landed. The Viennese table looked wonderful, and everything we tried on it was excellent. Our cake was beautiful and tasted every bit as good as it looked. The late-night food arrived at exactly the right moment, six hours into the party. The timing was intelligent. Food arrived on the beats of the evening rather than on a clock. Our first dance finished, and the salad was there. The speeches ended, and the mains came. We cut the cake and dessert followed. At no point did anyone at our table sit waiting. Straight after the ceremony, before we had even reached cocktail hour, someone put a plate holding one of every canapé into each of our hands. Their service staff was professional, quick, and friendly, and when we were up and moving during dinner, someone from their team came to find us so that we actually ate. Tim Brown has real taste, and he understands how a menu fits together and how an evening should flow. The menus he sends while you are still deciding are enormous, full of possibilities rather than a shortlist. Everything on them is good, so it comes down to what you feel like eating. He also handled most of our rentals through Weylin's rental partner, down to sourcing copper mugs for our Moscow Mules and getting them to the bar.
