Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (108 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Bridgewater, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
“If you really want to save money on florals, then go with Flower Moxie! Just a heads up, IT IS A LOT OF WORK, but they give you very clear email instructions of what to expect and there are MANY resources they provide through articles, videos, etc. I was mistaken in thinking that all I would have to do is arrange flowers in vases. You are actually cutting, cleaning and processing everything. We refused to spend money on flowers through a florist, but with Flower Moxie, we were able to incorporate some florals for a very reasonable price!”

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
“Kate brought my idea of a spring garden wedding to life. She over exceeded my expectations for all the bouquets and the bud vases throughout the room. She was very easy to talk through it all and really helped with showing a personalized portfolio to really showcase what to expect on our wedding day. It was so special to me and my mother-in-law to incorporate her wedding dress sleeve as the wrap for my bouquet.”

I would highly recommend The Faux Bouquets to any couple looking for beautiful, high-quality floral arrangements for their wedding.”

“First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.”

She did the bouquets for myself and my wedding party, as well as arch flowers and boutonnières for groomsmen. She even threw in a few stems for our wedding cake and stayed after the ceremony to move the arch flowers to our dessert table. “Tracy is amazing!!! Our wedding flowers were absolutely stunning, and she made the whole process so easy and fun. She was incredibly attentive and detail-oriented, taking the time to really understand my vision, hopping on multiple calls, and even coming for a site visit. She brought my vision to life in a way that fit flawlessly with our overall design. What really stood out was how thoughtful she was about incorporating family heirlooms and relics, something that was a focal point in our wedding. She found the most beautiful ways to repurpose old vases, barrels, pots, and more into the arrangements, which made everything feel so personal and meaningful. Tracy was such a joy to work with. “Choosing Eliza and her team at Boom and Bloom was one of the single best decisions we made for our wedding. Florals play such a defining role in shaping an aesthetic, transforming a simple concept into a breathtaking reality, and from the moment we had our first call with Eliza I knew there was no other option. Her warmth, creative vision, and genuine enthusiasm made the entire experience an absolute pleasure. Throughout the planning process, Eliza went above and beyond to ensure every detail aligned with our vision. She thoughtfully created, and then refined, our mood board several times, already going above and beyond, checking in with me regularly and making adjustments with incredible care. One of the most meaningful touches was her designing special arrangements to honor both of my grandmothers on our memorial table. That level of sensitivity and intention truly set her apart. Every floral element from the aisle arrangements and ceremony arch to the centerpieces was executed flawlessly. Eliza didn’t just provide florals; she curated an entire aesthetic. She styled our table scapes and incorporated candles and uplighting that matched our dark and moody, romantic vibe to perfection. The results were nothing short of stunning. On the wedding day, Boom and Bloom handled everything seamlessly, from setup to take-down, with the added care of using sustainably sourced and recycled greenery and florals. The overall atmosphere was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined, and it’s all thanks to Eliza’s artistry, professionalism, and heart. We are endlessly grateful and we truly cannot recommend Boom and Bloom highly enough.”

“I had the absolute pleasure of working with Kristina at Evergreen Events for our wedding on 10/19/25. Kristina came recommended to me by a friend who had recently used her floral services, and I couldn't be happier with her work! Our wedding flowers were absolutely stunning, matched my vision perfectly and exceeded every expectation. She flawlessly designed the ceremony and reception flowers, as well as the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. We received so many compliments from our guests!”

“Enza and her team were amazing! They were prompt with their communication and very patient with us as we figured things out and made adjustments along the way. The flowers were truly spectacular, I wouldn’t change a thing! Enza had expertise around what was in season and had several solutions for ways we could approach a flower we wanted that was not in season. I can’t say enough good things about Enza and her team.”
