We could not recommend Jared enough. From the whole preplanning process, he was very thorough and professional. He asked so many good questions, and answered many we didn’t know we had during the very thorough meeting a week before the wedding. On the Wedding day he kept the flow going kept the vibes up and did great seeing what people were actually dancing on the dance floor and creating the dance floor to what people were digging. Very communicative, very punctual and did not have a single bad experience. We even added a Photo Booth last minute (as in the week before the wedding) and he totally worked with us to make that come true.

Shaylynne went above and beyond at our wedding! Booking/communicating with her was very easy and she was very flexible when it came to the plan for our day. We wanted separate bar setups for cocktail hour and reception but I was worried that might be too complicated. Shaylynne told me to not worry about it, and sure enough they totally pulled it off. The cocktails were perfect and they provided excellent service. I wish I had another event planned just so we could book them again !!

Stumptown Djs

I love my job. For me, it’s kind of two-fold. One amazing part of the job is knowing that you are part of a couple’s most memorable day of their life—and assuming it goes well, they will remember you for it for the rest of their life. The other part is that I get to run a business and listen to music—two of my deepest passions. So running a DJ company mashes it all together in one great package.

Awarded Best of Zola
DJ Steven and Stumptown were excellent! DJ Steven, while being a Tier 2 DJ, was more like a Tier 10! We really wanted a fun and populated dancefloor at our wedding and DJ Steven delivered! He was great at reading the crowd and playing songs that got everyone on their feet. He also surprised us by bringing a bubble gun, lights, and a 360 cam. What was most spectacular was that DJ Steven also created a special mix for our first dance so that we could do a fun choreographed dance to it. Our guests absolutely loved it, and we couldn’t be more thankful to Steven for making it happen. He helped us select songs for all phases of the wedding and was able to really set the mood throughout the entire event. We received numerous compliments from guests about how the wedding was so upbeat and had an awesome party atmosphere; DJ Steven was a large part of that! Stumptown and DJ Steven were very organized and all wedding details were easy to communicate via their portal. We asked a lot from them, and they definitely delivered an amazing event. Big thanks to DJ Steven and Stumptown DJ’s!

Venue considerations

We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor. The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event. -Nicola & Lou

Weddings can be very stressful, especially when it comes to the flowers, but she was able to make it all happen! Mary met with my Husband and I several times prior to the big day to visit the venue, go over design, brain storm ideas, ect. She brought all my ideas to life and totally understood what I wanted but wasn’t able to put into words. On the wedding day, all florals were delivered and set up on time and in perfect condition with no hiccups. The flowers were so beautiful and definitely a highlight for guests. I couldn’t recommend Kvetka Flowers enough! Whether it’s a personal floral delivery, small gathering, or wedding, Mary will surpass your expectations and simply wow you with beautiful flowers. JR Music Collective got its start with the simple idea of live music and DJ service from one vendor caught on across the region and the company began adding more musician/DJs to its roster. Oregon Bride Magazine first recognized JR Music Collective with an award in 2013. The collective has gone on to win awards every year since. We have a talented group of musicians and DJs waiting to make your day wonderful.

Hands down, JR Music Collective provided the best experience we could have asked for from a DJ. Everyone we worked with was extremely professional, and every step along the planning process felt seamless and easy because of their attention to detail. We had John, the owner, as our DJ and really felt taken care of along the entire way; he even learned a song on the guitar to perform for us during our first dance! Thank you, JR team! Hi, I'm Georgy Shishkin — a wedding and elopement photographer with over 19 years of experience capturing love stories in breathtaking landscapes. Based in Oregon, I photograph weddings across the Pacific Northwest, California, and British Columbia. My background in photojournalism taught me how to anticipate real emotion, while my years in wedding photography taught me how to guide and support couples in front of the camera. I love helping people who’ve never modeled before feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely connected. Every story is personal to me — I’m not just your photographer, I’m your teammate throughout the day.

Awarded Best of Zola
I rarely write comments about the work of specialists, but it is simply impossible not to appreciate the work of Georgy Shishkin! This man is an amazing Photographer with a capital letter! The way he sees the frame, how he builds the shooting process, what impression he makes on everyone who participates in it - this is great professionalism, experience and, of course, a gift given to him from above! For the past 6 years, George has been filming the most important events of our lives. There are more than 1000 of his pictures in family albums, which we review every time with great joy and nostalgia! Our wedding, the birth of children, walks, trips to Altai and Baikal, Geogry was always happy to agree to all our crazy filming ideas and the result always exceeded expectations! This is the rare case when you are already spoiled by good shots and your expectations are too high, but every time he surpasses himself and the shots that you get in the end cause just a flurry of genuine emotions and joy! I wholeheartedly recommend Georgy Shishkin as the best photographer in our city! Because sometimes I had to work with other professionals, and as a result, we all concluded that no one coped with the task better than Georgy! Georgy always exceeds expectations and does his job with a piece of his soul, it is felt in every frame to which he put his talented hand of a photographer!

I am a Portland native through and through! My love for photography rivals only my love of traveling. My interest in photography began at a young age, thanks to my Uncle and 8th grade math teacher. After over 18 years of experience, I have mastered the art of putting my clients at ease and creating an environment for them to be present and most importantly be themselves. I have a deep passion for not only the images I create but for the people I work with. I truly consider it an honor to be a part of someone’s wedding day and the images we create together become reflective memories for the couple, not just snapshots in time.

She was patient and creative when trying to capture photos with our sweet dog River, and made the entire photo session fun and relaxed for everyone involved. Cambrae's attention to detail and ability to pose us perfectly resulted in photos that beautifully captured the joy and love of our special day. We are thrilled with the high-quality work Cambrae delivered and would recommend her to any couple looking for an exceptional wedding photographer.

Our wedding was this past Saturday (06.13.2026) at Wind Mountain Ranch and Brooke and the Luxe team absolutely exceeded expectations. Although the investment felt steep at times during planning, it was well worth the cost. Brooke navigated all the fine details, helped flawlessly coordinate the best vendors, and made an amazing day absolutely magical. She helped move things along in the planning process when things got stressful and was even able to manage my mother who had differing design opinions and direction to create something we were both happy with. She listened to everything we wanted, helped us stay in budget, and executed a detailed agenda with grace. Luxe is the real deal and the event ended up better than I could have dreamed of. On top of all of that, Brooke even sent some photos and videos via text following the wedding which I appreciated so much as we await the professional shots. Absolutely 1000% would recommend the Luxe team for your wedding and events! Photos by Summer Grace Photography

For the most part the venue was great to work with. They were upfront about the costs and helped us on the day of our wedding. The only negative I would have to say is how they upcharge for pretty much everything and were coming from out of town so our calls with the venue coordinator were done through phone calls. On our second call the coordinator was not prepared and yawned quite a bit through the entirety of the meeting. Other than those little bumps the process was great. Our family had a great time and the venue was truly beautiful.

Hereafter Films was one of the first vendors we booked early on in the wedding planning process, and we are sooooooo glad we did! Ryan and Sharayah were amazing to work with, along with their entire team. They photographed both our engagement session and our wedding day, and honestly, both sets of photos came out better than we could have imagined! Photography was one of the most important parts of our wedding. We really wanted our day to be captured in a way that felt authentic, emotional, and true to who we are, and Hereafter ABSOLUTELY nailed it! We looked at a lot of photographers, but the second we saw their portfolio, we were sold. Their style immediately stood out, and the fact that they shoot 35mm film was huge for us. The Super 8 option was such a fun bonus and made us even more excited about working with them. Their work feels timeless, intentional, and full of real emotion. On the wedding day itself, it felt incredible knowing we didn’t have to worry about a single thing when it came to photography and video. We trusted their creative process 1000%, and they truly made the entire day feel effortless. They handled our family and friends with so much patience, care, and ease, and so many people kept telling us how wonderful they were. Looking through our photos now instantly brings us right back to how the day felt, which is something we’ll always be grateful for. Beyond their obvious talent and artistry, Ryan and Sharayah are just genuinely awesome, laid-back, fun people to be around, and their calm, cool energy made such a difference. We feel incredibly lucky to have had them capture one of the most important days of our lives. 1000000% recommend booking Hereafter Films!

We were beyond impressed with this venue. They have so many options of areas to be married. The crew is so kind and makes sure everything is exactly how you want it. The bridal suite is to die for and the room for the groom is really neat. This place has a speak easy feel with a modern twist. We even had Halloween inflatables at our wedding! We got married October 2023. This venue is absolutely stunning and the train tracks for pictures are beautiful as well. They communicate very well, also. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue.

Andy! I just realized I never left my review for you!! Andy helped us plan our wedding for 2024 at Mt. Hood Skibowl. And holy cow, if you need a wedding planner PLEASE hire her. Our wedding was so smooth and she was so professional the whole process. If you are hesitant to get a planner, I could not recommend doing so and using her services enough. I genuinely do not think our wedding would have been as amazing as it was without her and her team. Her organization was top notch, she communicated with all of our vendors, and kept everyone in line throughout the day and months leading up to our wedding. My favorite thing she said leading up to our day was “my couples always eat and I make sure of that.” While that may seem silly to think of, reflecting back on it, that phrase demonstrates true care for her clients and passion for this industry. Weddings can feel commercialized and feel disingenuous at times. Andy ensured that wasn’t the case and we had the most amazing day to last for the rest of our lives. A huge thank you from the Marshes!!!

Hello! I'm Robert. This is me. Let me tell you a bit about who I am and what I do. Love for photography, I am very passionate about working with my camera. If I am creating a little photo for myself that is never seen publicly or a project for a client, I put everything I have into making the photography I create as best I possibly can. Every click of the shudder is an opportunity for creating amazing photography. Every photo-shoot has options for photographs waiting to be found. Solving these puzzles with my camera and lighting is a lot of fun for me. I believe you can see that also. That's why you are here looking at my work now.

We cannot recommend Robert at Modern Art Photography highly enough! Choosing him as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. From the very beginning, Robert was professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with. He has an amazing eye for authentic moments, and that's exactly what drew us to his style. Instead of making us feel like we were constantly posing, he stayed in the background for much of the day, allowing us to simply be ourselves. He would offer gentle guidance or a cue here and there when needed, but everything felt natural, relaxed, and genuine. Because of his approach, our photos truly capture who we are as a couple. They feel candid, emotional, and full of real moments rather than stiff or overly posed. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day exactly as it happened, and that's something we'll treasure forever. Robert is also very reasonably priced for the quality of work he delivers. His equipment is top-notch, his professionalism is outstanding, and he was dependable throughout the entire process. We were also impressed with how quickly he delivered our photos—the turnaround time exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a photographer who captures authentic, heartfelt moments and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, Robert is the one. We absolutely love our wedding photos and are so grateful we chose Modern Art Photography. Highly, highly recommend!

Anthony is a licensed attorney who started officiating weddings in Oregon as a Judge (hence our company’s former name, The Wedding Judge). Matrimony Northwest has expanded in the 15 years since Anthony officiated his first wedding and has added two additional officiants—Emily and Henry. The three of them have officiated thousands of weddings in the Pacific Northwest in all different types of venues - back yards, courtrooms, coffee shops, beaches, mountain vistas, and more. Anthony is only the second person to have officiated a wedding in the Oregon State Capitol Building, and the only person to do so in modern times.

Let me start by saying I was completely unprepared for my own wedding! I was several hours late because I nearly fainted and couldn't walk. We almost had to cancel after the ceremony had already been delayed for hours. My parents were literally holding me up so I wouldn't collapse, and after convincing the venue owner and wedding planner that I still wanted to get married, a golf cart was brought in to get me to the aisle! At the top of the stairs my parents immediately started bickering, and my dad finally said, "Just grab her other hand, I can't get her down the aisle by myself!" I couldn't help but laugh. Looking back, I must have looked like I'd had one wild bachelorette party the night before! I was pale, wobbly, and clumsy. My veil was even pulled right out of my hair on the way down the aisle, and all I could do was laugh and say, "Oops! Oh well!" The moment I reached the altar and took my husband's hands, everything else faded away. It was the most magical moment of my life. Anthony was our officiant, and despite my late email replies, endless questions, and all of my chaotic ideas, he handled everything with kindness, patience, and professionalism. He created a beautiful ceremony that included both a handfasting and Las Arras (the Hispanic tradition of 13 wedding coins), honoring both my husband's Irish heritage and my Hispanic heritage. He also blended Spanish and English beautifully throughout the ceremony without simply repeating everything twice. It felt natural, meaningful, and welcoming for everyone. After the ceremony he stayed for dinner and cake, and we even got to chat afterward. Then came the cake cutting...which quickly turned into cake demolition because I had no idea how to cut a three-tier cake! I finally looked at everyone and joked, "Well...I guess we only have three slices of cake!" Everyone burst into laughter. Also when I mean demolished, I mean the cake looked like a sugar crazied army of toddlers got ahold of it! If you're looking for an officiant who is thoughtful, flexible, rolls with the punches, handles chaos well, genuinely caring, and able to make your ceremony feel completely personal, Anthony is your person. He took every crazy idea I had and made our wedding unforgettable. I truly cannot recommend him enough!!! Thank you, Anthony, for giving us the perfect ceremony despite all the chaos surrounding it! I wouldn't have had it any other way!! I attached some of our wedding photos below :)
