Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (108 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Kent, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
“I ordered the "peaches and cream" small package. We decided to skip on ceremony florals, and only have handhelds and bud vases at the reception. We did buy a few more flowers from the grocery to add more peach once the flowers arrived. We made and medium sized bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 corsages, and 7 bouts. (With lots of flowers left over). My bridesmaids and I did the arranging the morning before the wedding; it was fun, and a great start to the weekend. None of us had experience, but it all turned out great! If you or your bridal party are mildly crafty, I'd highly recommend it!”

Fountainhead Floral Design

  • Starts at $3,000

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
“Fountainhead Floral Design was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was clear, concise, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was simply amazing - the bridesmaids bouquets they created for us last minute were absolutely beautiful and perfect, and the centerpieces they designed were breathtaking. I had reached out to them in a panic less than a week before the wedding because my box of DIY bouquets got delayed, and they were able to step in and make the most stunning bridesmaids bouquets with barely any notice. Fountainhead Floral Design truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect, and we are so grateful for their incredible service and beautiful work.”

Awarded Best of Zola
“The Faux Bouquets was a fantastic florist to work with for our wedding. They had a straightforward, welcoming, and responsive communication style that made the entire process easy and stress-free. Their floral designs were elegant, affordable, and fully customizable to our preferences. They created a beautiful customized bouquet for my wife's bridal flowers and an elegant arch for our wedding ceremony. They even made last-minute adjustments to ensure we had the best possible designs. All of this was provided at an amazing price, and they even gave us a discount for being a local wedding. We highly recommend The Faux Bouquets to any couple planning their big day.”

Willow & Grey

I instinctually fell in love with the creativity of floral design and it wasn’t long until Willow & Grey was born. WG creates unique, romantic, and whimsical floral designs for weddings and events in New England. My desire is to curate florals that reflect and celebrate the beauty and magic in life’s most cherished moments.

“We hired Willow & Grey for our wedding florals, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! Renee was an absolute dream to work with—thoughtful, creative, and incredibly talented. One of the things that initially stood out to me was that Renee had already been to our venue before, so she had a great eye for how to enhance the space and transform it into something truly special. Even with minimal inspiration from us, she completely understood our vision and brought it to life in such a beautiful way. We wanted our florals to complement the overall vibe of our day while still feeling unique and personal—and Renee absolutely delivered. Every arrangement felt intentional and artful, with those little unexpected touches that made everything feel extra special. If you're getting married in Connecticut and want florals that feel both elegant and personal, we’d 100% recommend Willow & Grey. Renee is amazing! – The Ryans”

“Shannon and Three Roots were amazing to work with! You can see from the photos (By Jessie Barentsen) below how absolutely stunning our florals were on our day. Throughout the whole planning process Shannon was so easy to communicate with and always had very prompt, timely responses. She was able to take my thoughts and visions bring them together and to life. She was very detail oriented down to having me select ribbons and vessels for our bouquets and florals. She sourced the most beautiful candles and bud vases for us as well. We had some last minute cancellations and cut down 2 tables and she worked with us to reallocate what we had paid for those tables to florals elsewhere in the space to not lose out. On our day there was so much love and hugging the groomsmen boutonnieres were falling off before the ceremony and she made new ones for all of them and placed them on. I cannot recommend Shannon enough!”

“Emily and her team transformed our harsh, industrial wedding venue into the most romantic, dreamy space I've ever seen. She suspended fabric, built an incredible floral installation, hung vines, and created the most beautiful centerpieces, bud vases, and bouquets. Her eye for design and artistry is incredible, her flowers are stunning, her hardware is beautiful, and she is so kind, communicative, and easy to work with. “Choosing Eliza and her team at Boom and Bloom was one of the single best decisions we made for our wedding. Florals play such a defining role in shaping an aesthetic, transforming a simple concept into a breathtaking reality, and from the moment we had our first call with Eliza I knew there was no other option. Her warmth, creative vision, and genuine enthusiasm made the entire experience an absolute pleasure. Throughout the planning process, Eliza went above and beyond to ensure every detail aligned with our vision. She thoughtfully created, and then refined, our mood board several times, already going above and beyond, checking in with me regularly and making adjustments with incredible care. One of the most meaningful touches was her designing special arrangements to honor both of my grandmothers on our memorial table. That level of sensitivity and intention truly set her apart. Every floral element from the aisle arrangements and ceremony arch to the centerpieces was executed flawlessly. Eliza didn’t just provide florals; she curated an entire aesthetic. She styled our table scapes and incorporated candles and uplighting that matched our dark and moody, romantic vibe to perfection. The results were nothing short of stunning. On the wedding day, Boom and Bloom handled everything seamlessly, from setup to take-down, with the added care of using sustainably sourced and recycled greenery and florals. The overall atmosphere was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined, and it’s all thanks to Eliza’s artistry, professionalism, and heart. We are endlessly grateful and we truly cannot recommend Boom and Bloom highly enough.”

“Sweet Blooming was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding flowers. From our very first conversation, their communication was clear, responsive and incredibly helpful as we worked to bring our vision to life. The quality of their work was simply stunning - the gorgeous flower arch they coordinated with our planners to set up for our ceremony was breathtaking, and they used the leftover ceremony flowers and bridesmaid bouquets to create beautiful centerpieces that perfectly complemented our reception decor. Sweet Blooming also provided great suggestions to help us make our floral vision a reality. We couldn't have been happier with the end result, and would highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding.”
