“Jen was AMAZING to work with! When it came to flowers for my wedding, I had NO IDEA what I wanted. She was very patient with me and helped talk me through my vision. She gave me flowers to pick from, talked about how big I wanted my bouquet and how much greenery I wanted, and then when I could find colors I liked in swatches, she color-matched the colors I wanted from an inspo pic I found online! She was very professional and patient with me, even when my plans changed or I needed to add to my order.  I am not the best at putting together a bouquet. I am also someone who likes control, especially when it came to planning my wedding. I was thankful that I was able to give Jen the reins, tell her what I wanted, and watch her make my dreams come true. When I first saw my flowers, I was speechless. She truly did make my floral dreams come true, and now I get to keep my bouquet for the rest of my life! A wooden flower bouquet from Jen is the way to go!”

Your wedding flowers should do more than decorate a room. They should make you feel something long after the day is over. I'm Tara, the grower and designer behind Peterson's Patch, a flower farm and wedding studio in Sterling, Connecticut. My style is nature-inspired and a little moody: calm with a touch of drama, like an English garden by the sea. The most beautiful weddings begin with trust. Hand me your vision and I'll guide you through every decision, so that when you see your flowers for the first time, you feel peace, joy, and complete confidence. Every couple and every kind of love is welcome here. I'd love to hear about your day.

“Peterson's Patch, LLC made our October wedding feel so special. Tara was friendly and responsive throughout the whole process, and she really listened to what we wanted. When she learned I was growing marigolds for garlands, she grew extra big beautiful ones just for us. We loved that all the flowers were in season and native to the area—they felt fresh and vibrant in a way that mattered to us. The quality of her work was top-notch and the value was incredible. We're so grateful to Tara for helping make our day exactly what we imagined.”

“Zoe and Gabby did the florals for my wedding in June 2024. All of the florals were absolutely stunning. I was absolutely obsessed with my bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. They used my pinterest board to truly create the bouquets of my dreams. Everyone in the reception were commenting on the table florals as well. Zoe and Gabby were so easy to work with. I had a ton of questions about different options such as bud vases vs. compote bowls, hanging florals, arch florals and more. They were both so patient with me while I figured out what I wanted. I also changed my vision from when we first spoke and they were so easy about the changes. I really loved supporting a local, women owned business. I also loved that all of the flowers were grown locally. I couldn't recommend Sterling Flower Farm enough.”

“Jakkelyn Iris was my absolute favorite vendor that I worked with for my wedding. I am a total perfectionist, who had a very clear idea for what I wanted, and Jakkie was able to bring it all to life. She rolled with all the punches I gave her- crazy ideas about installing trees, panicked emails about color decisions, creating an additional bridesmaid bouquet on the spot because I miscounted, and more. She is not just an incredibly talented florist, but a wonderful person as well. I looked forward to all our meetings because they were fun. On the day of my wedding when she brought me my bouquet, I cried! I am recommending her to all my friends in the area because she is truly the best!”

    Painted Gardens
    Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
    • Serves Portland, CT

Welcome to Painted Gardens! Shannon, who is often hidden behind a big bouquet of flowers, is the owner and head designer of PG. Although her background is as a mixed media artist, She has always worked in horticulture and is proud to be a first generation farmer alongside her husband Justin. Her experience as a grower made floristry a natural, artistic progression. Since opening PG, her passion has evolved into distinctive, unique, eclectic, garden style designs. Painted Gardens would not be possible without her husband Justin's support and hard work taking care of our farm. Dream team since 2015!

“Painted Gardens was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding flowers! From the very first interaction, Shannon was warm, prompt, and detail-oriented. You only have to tell her something once and she will never forget it! She provides suggestions with your budget in mind, and makes sure that your specific vision is brought to life. She provided thoughtful suggestions for our big day, like a custom chalkboard sign for our cocktail hour, greenery through the lights in the barn, gorgeous arrangements by the fireplace for cocktail hour, and candlesticks that she provided throughout the reception area. Shannon listened carefully to our preferences and didn't miss a single detail, walking through the venue with us weeks before to brainstorm stunning details. The final product was incredible - high quality florals at an extremely fair price! We got so many compliments on the florals in particular! All thanks to Shannon! Painted Gardens was by far our favorite vendor, and we would book them a million times over for any event. :) Thank you, Shannon!!”

“Tammie made our wedding a dream. We love flowers and knew we wanted them to be a showstopper during our big day, and from our very first meeting we knew that Tammie would create organic coastal garden magic for us. After describing our likes and dislikes and reviewing a moodboard with Tammie, she came back with a visual proposal that completely understood the vision we had, and the actual execution was even better than we could have expected. From my beautiful bouquet, to the ceremony arrangements, and the stunner of a floral chandelier, everything was absolutely perfect. However, nothing could really top the reception tables — it was like my Pinterest board come to life. The organic feeling growing arrangements, bud vases, ikebanas, and tapers that complimented our tablecloths were *chefs kiss*. I’m still not over everything! To top it all off, Tammie is so kind, warm, and lovely — she made dreaming up flowers one of the best and most enjoyable parts of this process. Thank you for everything, Tammie!”

Farm Couture Flowers is the design studio at Muddy Feet Flower Farm. I grow over 100 varieties of cut flowers from April through November and incorporate them into lush garden-style arrangements and bouquets.

“Where to begin? Kristin is an artist. In the age of insane wedding Pinterest boards and over-planning every detail, we gladly handed the floral design and aesthetics over to Kristin. She uses her own flowers from her farm, so she's both local and sustainable, and if you're interested in supporting a small, woman-owned business, this is the way to go. We trusted her direction and expertise and it was the best decision we could have made. When we walked into our venue on the day-of, we were both floored. It was so much better than I could have even imagined; we received so many sincere compliments from guests. Our wedding photographer said he thought they were the best wedding flowers he'd seen. The floral design was original, organic, and creative, and the greenery was gorgeous. If you choose Kristin as your florist, trust her to lead the way. It'll be better than anything you could have imagined!”

Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Our flowers showed up in great condition no issues (one delayed package arrived early the next day in great shape) and the flower moxie team was there to answer any questions if we needed! We used a mix of their flowers (about 30% of our total stems) with local and self-grown for centerpieces and bud vases, and my entire bridal bouquet was made up of David Austin roses from them. The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

“Claire and I got married in Groton at the Barn at Gibbet Hill on Sep 18th, 2026. With the wedding happening in late summer/early fall, we really wanted a color palette that complemented the lavender/soft purple hue of the bridesmaids dresses but also popped with good contrast for the men's classic black and white suits. Dirt Empress was so engaged and supportive in collaborating on a vision and style, offering to hold multiple meetings to discuss pricing, logistics, considerations, and inspiration. She was very responsive and clear in communications through the experience. On the day of, Dirt Empress was promptly on-time and honestly we didn't even feel her presence on the day - the flowers just appeared like magic of the thin air!
