Your wedding flowers should do more than decorate a room. They should make you feel something long after the day is over. I'm Tara, the grower and designer behind Peterson's Patch, a flower farm and wedding studio in Sterling, Connecticut. My style is nature-inspired and a little moody: calm with a touch of drama, like an English garden by the sea. The most beautiful weddings begin with trust. Hand me your vision and I'll guide you through every decision, so that when you see your flowers for the first time, you feel peace, joy, and complete confidence. Every couple and every kind of love is welcome here. I'd love to hear about your day.

“Tara did such a beautiful job on our wedding florals - I seriously can't recommend her enough! She was so great to work with from start to finish. She completely understood our vision, and she created something even more beautiful with her arrangements than I could even imagine. Her beautiful centerpiece arrangements really elevated our guest tables, and I didn't want to let go of my bouquet the entire day. I can't thank her enough for her beautiful work, and how incredibly accommodating she was the week of our wedding.”

“Zoe and Gabby did the florals for my wedding in June 2024. All of the florals were absolutely stunning. I was absolutely obsessed with my bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. They used my pinterest board to truly create the bouquets of my dreams. Everyone in the reception were commenting on the table florals as well. Zoe and Gabby were so easy to work with. I had a ton of questions about different options such as bud vases vs. compote bowls, hanging florals, arch florals and more. They were both so patient with me while I figured out what I wanted. I also changed my vision from when we first spoke and they were so easy about the changes. I really loved supporting a local, women owned business. I also loved that all of the flowers were grown locally. I couldn't recommend Sterling Flower Farm enough.”

“Carol was PHENOMENAL. I have never gotten so many compliments about anything and people repeatedly said our florals were breathtaking and the most beautiful they had seen. Carol from the start was absolutely lovely to work with and wanted to help make our vision come to life. Overall, we were an easy couple for most things, but florals were the only real detail that needed to be perfect and had an actual vision. Carol delivered and then some. She was affordable, creative, and the pictures won't do them justice because we only have some back so far but couldn't wait to rave about her. She made our dreams truly come to life and all of our ceremony was repurposed into our reception and was absolutely stunning. I would hire her 100 times over!! She is the best.”

“The second I stumbled upon Jakki’s work, I knew I had to work with her. I even joked that we’d have to change our wedding date if she wasn’t available that weekend! From our very first call, I was blown away by how deeply she understood our vision. Honestly, even better than we could articulate it ourselves. She walked us through what was in season and had such an incredible eye for detail. It was such a relief to work with someone we trusted so fully. Beyond florals, Jakki even referred us to a few of our other amazing vendors—she became someone whose opinion I truly valued throughout the planning process. “Tammie made our wedding a dream. We love flowers and knew we wanted them to be a showstopper during our big day, and from our very first meeting we knew that Tammie would create organic coastal garden magic for us. After describing our likes and dislikes and reviewing a moodboard with Tammie, she came back with a visual proposal that completely understood the vision we had, and the actual execution was even better than we could have expected. From my beautiful bouquet, to the ceremony arrangements, and the stunner of a floral chandelier, everything was absolutely perfect. However, nothing could really top the reception tables — it was like my Pinterest board come to life. The organic feeling growing arrangements, bud vases, ikebanas, and tapers that complimented our tablecloths were *chefs kiss*. I’m still not over everything! To top it all off, Tammie is so kind, warm, and lovely — she made dreaming up flowers one of the best and most enjoyable parts of this process. Thank you for everything, Tammie!”

Farm Couture Flowers
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Quaker Hill, CT

Farm Couture Flowers is the design studio at Muddy Feet Flower Farm. I grow over 100 varieties of cut flowers from April through November and incorporate them into lush garden-style arrangements and bouquets.

“Where to begin? Kristin is an artist. In the age of insane wedding Pinterest boards and over-planning every detail, we gladly handed the floral design and aesthetics over to Kristin. She uses her own flowers from her farm, so she's both local and sustainable, and if you're interested in supporting a small, woman-owned business, this is the way to go. We trusted her direction and expertise and it was the best decision we could have made. When we walked into our venue on the day-of, we were both floored. It was so much better than I could have even imagined; we received so many sincere compliments from guests. Our wedding photographer said he thought they were the best wedding flowers he'd seen. The floral design was original, organic, and creative, and the greenery was gorgeous. If you choose Kristin as your florist, trust her to lead the way. It'll be better than anything you could have imagined!”

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (110 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Quaker Hill, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

“We were on a strict budget for our wedding. I knew that florals would be the best way to save on some of the huge wedding costs. I found out about Flower Moxie from googling where I would get wholesale flowers. I was immediately hooked once I saw the flower options, tutorials, and worksheets to help plan out my special day. I am very big on organization, and this website had resources for every step of the way. I found the perfect combination of flowers for my boho wedding. I ordered the flowers about 2 months before our big day. It was a destination wedding, so I was checking into our airbnb on the day the flowers were arriving. I had them scheduled to be delivered at the Fedex holding center near by. I thought the company only used Fedex shipping based on my research. I went into full panic mode when I saw the flowers had been shipped by UPS. I immediately called UPS and Fedex, and to be honest I was stunned at the behavior on the other side of the phone. The flowers were still in transit, and no one would help me with rerouting. I called Flower Moxie to see if they could change things on their side as they were the sender. Luis answered the phone and it felt like I finally had someone looking out for me. I had already spent 4 hours on the phone with the shipping companies and gotten nowhere. Luis said he was on it and not to worry. I ordered enough flowers for 18 centerpieces, 70 bud vases, 8 bouquets, and 1 flower arch. Needless to say, it was quite the ordeal to reroute everything. Over the next 48 hours, Luis kept in constant contact with me about the progress of the shipment. I know I was on the phone for at least 6 hours with this ordeal, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had spent about 15 hours talking to UPS, Fedex, florists, and customs to get me my flowers. He made me feel calm and taken care of. Everyone was coming to me with questions and concerns the entire wedding week, and I can't express how it felt to have someone have my back, and take an extremely big tasks off my plate. I would absolutely recommend this company for DIY brides. And I hope this review is seen by Flower Moxie to highlight an outstanding employee with excellent customer service. In an age when it takes time and multiple attempts in order to talk to a person on the phone, I am so appreciative of the effort that was given by Luis for my wedding day. He made me feel like it was an important event for him too. Thank you Luis for making my wedding dreams come true! My sister also mentioned you in her MOH wedding speech. We were all impressed :)”

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

“Fountainhead Floral Design was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was clear, concise, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was simply amazing - the bridesmaids bouquets they created for us last minute were absolutely beautiful and perfect, and the centerpieces they designed were breathtaking. I had reached out to them in a panic less than a week before the wedding because my box of DIY bouquets got delayed, and they were able to step in and make the most stunning bridesmaids bouquets with barely any notice. Fountainhead Floral Design truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect, and we are so grateful for their incredible service and beautiful work.”

Her team delivered divine work on the wedding day (and she even kindly gifted us some bud vases to place on tables!). Although I wasn't able to thank them in person (evidence of how efficiently they work both with setting up and breaking down), I was blown away by how beautiful everything looked. You can just tell how much love, passion, and effort she puts into her work. I felt very well taken care of throughout the whole process -- there was never a concern that something would go wrong. And needless to say, the flowers were so fresh and full, and she totally captured my vision perfectly, especially with the gorgeous bouquet, which received many compliments! My family members took many of the flowers from the deconstructed arch to take home too. I would highly recommend VH Floral Design to everyone!!!”

“When I was looking for floral vendors for my July 2024 wedding in Block Island, I came across Ayla’s Instagram, and I knew immediately I had to work with her. I fell in love with the whimsical, natural, English-garden vibe of her florals, and I just thought she was the coolest person. From the first conversation we had, it felt like she “got” me, suggesting flowers, designs, and concepts better than I could possibly articulate myself. She was incredibly thoughtful putting together multiple proposals that fit our vision and our budget. The entire planning process couldn’t have been easier because of how sweet, communicative, and easy Ayla was to work with. Cut to the wedding day, and I was honestly speechless seeing her work come to life in our tent. Ayla is an ARTIST. She created a gorgeous 65 ft table runner for our head table that was so dreamy I still think about it. The bouquets were exactly what I was looking for - natural and simple but packed a stunning punch. Then there was the tent entrance installation, which was so beautiful on its own but also so thoughtfully designed to enhance the view and setting of our venue. Multiple guests came up to me on the wedding day (and even in the weeks afterwards) commenting on how the florals were some of the most unique and beautiful they had seen. I truly could go on and on. Ayla and her amazing team at shade studio exceeded every expectation a million times over. Hands down, Ayla is the best and I couldn’t recommend her more.”

“First Blush Weddings was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first conversation, Emma was prompt, easy to communicate with, and incredibly kind. She listened closely to our vision for vibrant, wildflower-inspired florals for our beach ceremony and reception, and she delivered beautifully. The ceremony arch was stunning, with lush greenery and pops of color that perfectly complemented our setting. We received so many compliments from our guests on the gorgeous, high-quality flowers. Emma and her team's attention to detail and commitment to bringing our dream to life was apparent in every aspect of their work. We are thrilled with how everything turned out and would highly recommend First Blush Weddings to any couple planning their special day.”
