The Historic Hangar at Pearson Air Museum
Rating: 4.0 (1 review)

The Historic Hangar is situated within Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (N.H.S.) and is adjacent to Pearson Air Museum. This Nationally Registered Historic Building was built in 1921 and was operated by the U.S. Army Signal Corps' Spruce Production Corporation. In 1924, the Army Air Service moved the building to its present location. The Historic Hangar's character and glamour of bygone eras has quickly become a favorite amongst the community. The white interior, exposed wood beams, and gorgeous view of the park grounds makes for a unique venue that can easily host any special event.

  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Raw space for complete customization

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Additional event staff required
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
“We got married just about a year ago in the old hangar at Pearson and it was perfect! We hired a live jazz band and had the hangar doors open, timing our entry with sunset behind the Fort, and it was everything I wanted. The hangar is already white and made a great blank canvas, and it has those incandescent-look patio lights hanging up inside. We had about 70 people that attended, plus the 25-person big band. The only 2 tricks were that you can't "permanently" attach anything to walls or anything, so we made some weighted window-sill decorations for the windows on the south wall, and we did have to bring our own sound system for speechifying. The only complaints I had were that we had to dispose of our own trash (which was just kind of strange for a venue IMHO since it's such a big park) and that the outside walls were just... filthy with cobwebs, dry grass, etc. so it didn't make a great backdrop for photos. I wanted to enter through the back door, so there's not a lot of photos of outside (we also had photographer issues, but that's a different thing entirely!).”

“The Victorian Belle was everything we dreamed of for our wedding and more. The mansion and gardens are absolutely breathtaking, magical, romantic, and full of flowers. During our ceremony, bunnies even popped out of the hedges to watch, which felt straight out of a fairy tale! The lighting in the reception tent was warm and enchanting, and the whole atmosphere made the day unforgettable. The staff were phenomenal from start to finish. They were kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was stress-free. They set everything up for us, kept us on track with the timeline, and even brought drinks from the bar without us having to ask. Communication was excellent throughout the entire planning process — Diana, the coordinator, was the friendliest, most helpful person we could have hoped for, always quick to respond and endlessly accommodating. As a bride in a wheelchair, accessibility was a big concern for me, and I can’t say enough about how thoughtful and inclusive they were. They rearranged furniture to ensure ease of movement, set up the bridal suite on the ground floor so I could get ready comfortably, and made every adjustment possible to ensure my day was just as easy and beautiful as it would be for anyone else. That level of care meant so much. The catering, which comes with the venue, was absolutely divine. Guests raved that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had. The staff let us fully customize the menu, including vegan options for things that weren't listed as vegan, and everything was delicious. They even packed up leftovers for us to take home, which we loved. Flexibility was a huge strength of this venue. They let us customize décor, set up special tables for speakers and a memorial area, and made the whole day feel like it was truly ours. Our guests are still telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever attended, and we couldn’t agree more. If you’re looking for a venue that’s gorgeous, affordable, accessible, and filled with caring, professional staff, I can’t recommend the Victorian Belle highly enough. They gave us the wedding of our dreams.”

The winery has multiple gorgeous areas that lend themselves well to customization, both indoors and outdoors (which is a must with Oregon's mercurial weather patterns!). Even the day of the wedding itself, Katie was instrumental in keeping everything running smoothly and improvising as needed. Their kitchen staff is incredible. We had a mixed menu with some Amaterra classic catering options as well as some custom Chinese dishes. The food was so good that multiple of our guests have talked about pining to have another serving, weeks after the fact! Importantly, the pricing is also fair and transparent all throughout the process. Overall, Amaterra will always have a special place in our hearts after taking such good care of us on our big day. Voted Oregon Wedding Day Magazine's Best Portland Wedding Venue in '24 and '25! Centrally located just blocks from the Moda Center, Easton Broad is an industrial-chic, city venue perfect for the modern couple. While we lean into the greenhouse vibes, with a collection of over 100 houseplants, this intimate venue is a blank canvas that can accommodate groups from 20 to 200. Hire your dream team of vendors or ask us for our personalized recommendations! Need a little more space? We can help you obtain the permits necessary to utilize the sidewalk, right outside our doors, for cocktail hour overflow. This will allow much more flexibility for ceremony to reception "flips" with a higher guest count, and is also a great option for food trucks.

“Hiring Easton Broad was hands down the best decision we made for our destination wedding! Planning a wedding from another state is no easy fete, but Kelly helped us with so much, we never had to worry about details being missed. We only ever saw the venue twice- first when we toured it and fell in love, and not again until our wedding day, when we fell in love all over again! And the time between, Kelly was so quick to answer all of our questions (and there were tons!); we'd get responses within an hour and sometimes even in the middle of the night. It's very clear that she's passionate about what she does, and has been doing this for a long time. We are so fortunate to have found Easton Broad and it will hold a very special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives. To Kelly and her entire team, thank you so much for caring and making our wedding day even better than we could have ever imagined!”

“My wife and I wanted to get married in a beautiful space, but we didn't want to be forced into a traditional, religious ceremony. Sanctuary Hall was the perfect venue! It's beautiful, with stained glass, old wood, lots of space, even a balcony. It's a very old building, with a good feeling to it. As soon as we saw it, it was easy to picture our ceremony there. Steve was a joy to work with - he was super-accommodating, the paperwork was simple, and he offered us all the options we needed. Additionally, the price was far less than most other places we had looked at. There was a minister available if we wanted, but we chose to have an ordained friend perform the service, which worked out fine. Steve was willing to move around furniture, let us use whichever rooms we wanted for preparation, changing, signing of documents, and so on. There was also an organist – Grant – available for the service. He was also amazing to work with, coming up with arrangements of music for us. Everyone was able to meet for a rehearsal a few weeks before the ceremony, which helped things run smoothly. The actual ceremony was beautiful, with everything coming together as planned. They even rang the bell for us as we left the church :) I highly recommend Sanctuary Hall to anyone looking for an amazing space in Portland. Easy to get to, garage parking nearby, and just an all-around excellent experience. ----- This review was produced without the use of AI, generative technology, grammar-checking/suggesting software, chatbots, or other assistive tools, other than a simple spell checker.
