This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

Awarded Best of Zola
Kathryn has been a friend of mine for 20 years, so I've been following her growing business and incredible adventures around the globe for a long time. When I got engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted to do our engagement and wedding photos! Not only is she fantastic to work with, she loves opportunities for creativity and "outside the box" moments. I loved the idea of playing with light at night, so she found a color-changing light device to create incredible backgrounds for our night photos! I also loved that we hardly knew she and her second were there during the ceremony. She's sneaky and still gets the most beautiful photos! I cannot recommend my beautiful friend enough, especially if you're looking for someone LGBTQ friendly! Unfortunately, Google is not letting me upload photos, but please check out her website to see samples of her amazing work!

In the 20 years that I've been photographing professionally, I’ve honed my skill of knowing when to step in and make things happen, and when to step back and simply *allow* things to happen. Documenting the REAL emotion of the day is how we capture those picture-perfect moments. They happen organically, not by force, and I promise you: we're not going to miss ANY of them. = )

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Christopher and his team was the absolute best! From the beginning they were so thoughtful and informative every step of the way. Christopher eased our jitters by recommending a fun pre-wedding photoshoot before our rehearsal dinner which we would've never thought to do but absolutely loved. His calming presence throughout the wedding day made it so easy for us to relax in the moment, this sense of calm and joy was perfectly captured in our photos. Following our wedding, we worked with his design team on our wedding album. They too made this part of the process seamless, we were able to make decisions swiftly and with ease because of their expertise and support. We couldn't be happier with the overall experience or results!

They’re great at taking direction if you have requests but are also assertive and creative in setting up poses and backdrops. I'm Matthew, a wedding photographer based in Garrison, NY. With a decade as a wedding photographer and 15 years as an educator, I bring two things to every wedding: the ability to document moments as they happen, and the calm to handle whatever the day brings. I prepare carefully, communicate beforehand, and stay present when it's busy. My style is mostly documentary. I blend into the wedding, observing and documenting moments as they happen rather than staging them. Feedback I hear most often is that couples weren't aware of me, but that I got everything. I work with all couples and celebrate every kind of love, and every kind of marriage.

Awarded Best of Zola
Matthew Rigby Photography was amazing to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was clear and direct, which was very helpful given our tight timeline. The quality of their work was beautiful, perfectly capturing both our posed and spontaneous moments throughout the day. We had a Tamil Brahmin (Hindu) wedding with a long ceremony, and afterwards we only had about 20-30 minutes for couples portraits. But Matthew and his team went above and beyond, managing to take stunning photos that exceeded our expectations. It was his first time at the venue we chose and no one could tell. We are thrilled with how the pictures turned out and are so grateful to have such wonderful memories from our special day.

You know that all encompassing feeling when you’re revisiting a vivid memory? You can smell the fresh air, feel the way the sun hits your face just so, hear the voice of the loved one next to you, remember the joke that they delivered and instantly you’re laughing all over again. That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Awarded Best of Zola
Jessica was truly amazing to work with for our wedding day. From the very first time we spoke, Jessica had a sweet and attentive communication style that immediately put us at ease. I remember after our first virtual meeting her even sending a little thank you gift for meeting with her. And she was so kind, she asked so many questions and seemed genuinely interested about us as a couple and about our dogs! I spoke with some other photographers who seemed to care less about us as people. Which is ultimately why we went with Jessica to begin with, she was just so nice and her pictures were amazing to top it all off. Her passion for her craft was evident in the beautiful, high-quality photos she captured. Also her photo package names were so great (THE STAR WARS - "I LOVE YOU, I KNOW”)! For our engagement shoot we suffered through some of the hottest, awful, sticky, July weather and she was positive the entire time, managed to get amazing shots and deal with our crazy dogs! Before the wedding, Jessica was always easily reachable, and very on the ball. And will always be your biggest cheerleader, anytime I posted anything on Instagram, Jessica would be there celebrating, she is truly a delightful and genuine person! And I think her run through of the wedding day was the first one I got and it was perfect! And she went to the venue a week before the wedding to scope out the absolute perfect spots to take photos! On the day of the wedding, Jessica was able to calmly get every picture perfect, meanwhile making silly dad jokes to help us feel more relaxed in front of the camera. She was amazing at trying to calm down our crying moms, and giving us some moments just to ourselves, listening to literally everything we said, and always making sure we were okay, all while getting amazing shots! And all of our guests loved her! We had people reaching out during and after the wedding to tell us how wonderful Jessica was. Everyone was obsessed with her, both of our mom, my sister, my bridesmaids, even the best man kept talking about how great she was, how amazing everything went, and how nice she was with everything! Meanwhile I am sure it was like trying to her cats to get some of the photos together, especially when we both wanted huge extended family photos, but she was positive and amazing through it all! Jessica went above and beyond on our special day, making sure everything was perfect. I am sure I even missing some of the little touches she added to our wedding. And we are so grateful to have had her as our wedding photographer. She says on her website “YOU CAN CALL ME JESS (SHE/HER). AKA YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!” And that is honestly how I felt throughout the whole process, literally love her! And I mean the photos really speak for themselves, they are absolutely flawless!

My approach is rooted in a documentary style that focuses on capturing genuine, unscripted moments as they naturally unfold. Whether it's the quiet emotion of an intimate vow exchange or the energy of a packed dance floor, I’m there to observe and preserve it all with honesty and intention. From small elopements to full-scale celebrations, I pay close attention to both the subtle details and the powerful, unforgettable scenes—because every wedding has its own unique story, and my goal is to tell it truthfully through my lens

Gjagji photography was truly one of the best decisions we made for our November 2025 wedding. From start to finish, she went above and beyond in every possible way. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she is also trustworthy, honest, and genuinely fun to be around—which made such a difference on a day that can feel overwhelming. She blended seamlessly into our day, capturing the most beautiful, natural moments while also being outgoing and engaging with our guests and bridal party. Everyone loved her energy! She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and somehow managed to get every shot we had hoped for—and more. What truly stood out was her dedication. She stayed later than expected just to make sure she didn’t miss a single special moment, and her attention to detail is unmatched. You can tell she takes so much pride in her work—every single photo was thoughtfully edited to perfection. Looking back at our photos feels like reliving the entire day. She perfectly captured not just how everything looked, but how it felt. We are beyond grateful and cannot recommend her enough! I have 3 sisters and all 3 sisters can not wait to use gjagji photography for their big days!!

Hi, I'm Stef. I photograph intimate weddings, NYC City Hall ceremonies, and micro celebrations where presence matters more than production. My approach is documentary at its core. I'm not directing every moment, I'm moving through your day quietly, watching for the ones that actually matter. I shoot both digital and 35mm film, not as an aesthetic choice but because film asks everyone to slow down a little. That slowness is kind of the whole point. Based in New York City and the Hudson Valley, available for travel.

Awarded Best of Zola
I reached out to Stef a couple of days before my last-minute City Hall ceremony scheduled for 9:30am on a Friday. That’s too early and too last-minute for many wedding photographers, but Stef was such a great sport. She took a few posed photos of the group then followed us on a walk up the Bowery and through Chinatown to get to our brunch spot, snapping fantastic documentary-style photos all along the way. We wanted to remember the moment for what it was, without staging shots. The photos were exactly what we hoped for.

A good friend of mine has said that my brand is to care. She isn’t wrong-my brand is one of caring because my being is one of caring. I’ve been a wedding photog for 14+ yrs. I find that being a wedding photog is a gift - I barely have the words to describe how special it feels to be invited into clients’ most momentous & intimate wedding moments over & over again. I’m a champion for the weird & whimsical, the fun & funky - even & especially on wedding days. Plan your day the way you want to, trends be damned. Let your wedding day reflect your joy. That’s what we’re all there to celebrate, anyway. ✨

Awarded Best of Zola
They shot our wedding and we couldn't be happier with how it all came out! My favorite thing about all of the pictures is that they somehow managed to get soooo many adorable candid shots throughout the whole day - and I didn't even remember them snapping those photos! Their style of photography is truly breathtaking. Erica & Amanda are truly such creative, talented, and all around wonderful humans! They say that picking a wedding photographer is the most important vendor for your big day - since you'll be spending so much time around them. I knew immediately from our engagement shoot with Erica that she was the one to capture our moment. Erica & Amanda are really such pros, too - they were so quick to direct everyone to pose in the most easy-to-understand ways to get SO many pictures in such a short period of time. My husband and I are super awkward people - but you wouldn't know it from these pictures, we truly look like we belong in a magazine haha wtf!!!! AMAZING!!! They also got us our preveiws during the busy fall season in just a few days - and there were SOOOO MANY of them! Our wedding party was shocked at how good and how many there were, saying "these are only the previews?!" I can't even imagine how great the full album is going to be if this is just a taste of it!! And lastly, they are just great human beings through and through. Both Erica & Amanda radiate such positive and warm energy - that everyone felt comfortable around them. They're the kind of people that you feel like you've known for way longer than you do. I usually get really nervous around cameras, but they are seriously so calm and kind that you end up just laughing and smiling the whole time. I really love being able to support and give my money to people who I respect so much. If you're lucky to get on their books (because they book up fast!) I promise you won't regret it! -Lauren & Mike

She manages to get the most intimate shots while making sure we’re completely comfortable and happy. We thought a good while over who we were going to pick for our photographer and with unbelievable luck we chose the best photographer in the Hudson Valley. Completely outstanding, 10/10, we will be hiring her for all life events. From our first conversation with her, prior to the engagement shoot and prior to real wedding planning, it was clear that she was the right choice as she made us feel secure and made it clear that she had a vision that aligned with ours. Julia made our wedding dream come true and immortalized in her photos, there is absolutely no one we would recommend over her. With a calm, intuitive approach, I focus on preserving your moments in a way that feels natural, romantic, and timeless. If my work speaks to you, I would love the opportunity to connect 🤍

M Quay Photography was amazing to work with for our wedding day. From the very beginning, their communication was easy, responsive, and timely. Maylssa, our photographer, came to my cousin's house to capture the getting ready photos, and then joined us at the winery for the ceremony. The photos she captured were absolutely stunning - she has an incredible eye for detail and really helped make our special day feel even more magical. We are thrilled with the quality of their work and the value they provided. We'd highly recommend M Quay Photography to any couple looking for an experienced, talented photographer to document their wedding.

If I have a camera in my hands, then I am most definitely smiling. Photography has been my passion since I was a teenager and I love bringing that passion to weddings. I strive to capture all the intimate details that make a wedding truly personal. Don't be surprised if you see me crying during the parent dances, it's one of my favorite moments :)

Sarah is firstly a gifted artist and photographer. As you can see she understands space and color in a way that my wife and I clearly do not but more importantly she understands what makes a moment feel special. We asked Sarah to deliver a documentary style wedding experience and she did not fail. When my wife and I chose Sarah, she immediately got to work helping us to plan our wedding day in a way that you might not necessarily expect from a wedding photographer. Sarah was so personal and friendly on the day of our wedding, it felt more like we had a friend taking our pictures as a favor. However, the finished products speak for themselves: our friends and family celebrating, iconic moments of the day, and our love clearly shown throughout. Sarah delivered organization, artistry, and value in a comprehensive package that can’t be beat.

From our very first interaction with The Polished Portrait, we were impressed by his transparent, clear, and helpful communication style. Leo proved to be highly professional, providing work that was above average and truly the best we could have hoped for. Leo had brilliant ideas and worked tirelessly to capture quality candid moments throughout our wedding day. I hold a special place in my heart for intimate weddings, destination weddings, elopements, and anything in nature. I believe in the happy coexistence between posed and candid photography, and live for them both. I thrive off of positive energy and always promise to bring my own. For each couple I work with, I create a detailed and extensive timeline, posed list, and photo itinerary to ensure a smooth, relaxing, organized, and absolutely magical day. I’ve got a case of wanderlust and adore nature. Let’s explore.

Working with Caitlinn for our wedding was an AMAZING experience. We couldn’t be happier with our photos! I told her from the get go that my fiancé (now husband!) and I never take good photos, but she assured me that our photos would look natural and not overly posed, which is what we wanted. Caitlinn responded promptly to every email and worked with us to create an efficient timeline for our very large family and bridal party. We had four small children in our bridal party and Caitlinn handled them like an expert and got some amazing shots of all of them! She is incredibly organized and best of all, we received a “sneak preview” of our photo gallery one or two days after the wedding, and the entire photo gallery within a week of the wedding! And the pictures, OMG are they beautiful. The hardest part is choosing which photos to put in our album - they are all that good! (But we get to keep the full digital photo gallery which is being displayed on a digital frame). I particularly appreciated how “unobtrusive” her style is - especially during the very emotional moments like our first look - we didn’t “feel” like we were being photographed so we were able to enjoy the moment and act naturally. She captured all of the big moments and the small details too and her artistic eye created beautiful shots of everything from getting ready all the way to the cake cutting and everything in between. Caitlinn is also an incredibly lovely person - her energy carries through in everything she does, and we felt so comfortable from her right from the get go. Truly I can’t say enough about this wonderful photographer and person - she created beautiful memories for us that we will cherish forever.
