The staff was helpful, responsive, and made the whole process pretty seamless. Our guests really enjoyed the space and we got a lot of positive feedback. The journey to the ballroom sets the stage—a stroll through the tranquil, moonlit gardens, a hint of jasmine and earth in the air, building a sense of serene anticipation. Then, you enter the Ballroom. And you stop. And you gasp. The stunning, barrel-vaulted glass ceiling and walls are the star of the show. As day faded into night, our party unfolded under a canopy of twilight blue that deepened into a velvet black, making the entire space feel like a magnificent, elegant terrarium. The ornate, original 1920s terracotta details and the warm, exposed timber beams glowed under the soft lighting, creating a feeling of both grandeur and warmth. We timed it so that dinner coincided with the "blue hour," and it was breathtaking. Later, as we danced, the glass walls reflected the joy inside, doubling the energy and the light, while the dark, sleeping garden outside made us feel like we were in our own luminous, joyful snow globe. The Details: Thoughtful and Seamless The built-in mahogany bar was not only beautiful but perfectly situated, never causing a bottleneck. The spacious dance floor was constantly packed. And the acoustics? Perfect—conversation was easy during cocktails, but the band sounded crisp and vibrant once the party started. A heartfelt touch was the ability to step outside onto the adjacent terraces. Taking a breath of cool air, laughing with a friend under the stars with the shadowy silhouettes of magnolias and cherry trees around us, provided the perfect punctuation to the evening's high energy. We used the Brooklyn Botanic Ballroom in Crown Heights as the location for a wedding reception scene in a feature film I co-produced — the space delivered. The historic architecture, vaulted ceilings, and soft natural light gave the scene a timeless, cinematic feel that looked incredible on camera. After the shoot, we came back and used it as a holding location for 400 cast, crew, and background actors. There was more than enough room for wardrobe, staging, and downtime. The onsite team was organized, responsive, and kept everything running smooth. Garden access made transitions easy and gave folks a breather between takes.
